US - Project Engineer (Business Partner)

Under the direct supervision of the business partner systems engineering supervisor, efficiently perform all activities associated with project engineering. This includes close interaction with project teams in a positive and focused manner to realize productive results. Clear inter-departmental communication is necessary as are frequent customer discussions. The individual must also provide accurate and high quality work with minimal supervision.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Minimal responsibilities shall include but not be limited to:

  • Utilize standard work instructions, and the department drawing standards, in conduction or coordinating the performance of all work assignments. Must demonstrate highly developed documentation and organization skills along with work attitude.
  • Supplier management, negotiation skills and contract management.
  • Functions with minimum supervision and wide variety of demonstrated skills in the engineering of material handling systems, possibly supervising others but more than likely will be directing support engineers. Will be deciding on proper equipment applications.
  • Successful completion of assigned projects, both technically sound and within quoted costs.
  • Adherence to Company procedures and policies.
  • Completeness and accuracy of quotations and proposals.
    Analyze and solve systems requirements by interaction conversation with associates, suppliers, customers and managers; make on-site visitations when necessary.
  • Must have mobility to move around the facilities.
  • Clearly and concisely express ideas and concepts to all levels of management and associates.
  • Use problem-solving skills to respond to emergencies or general troubleshooting.
  • Be able to work during regular working hours (8-5) to accommodate customer calls and to work at least a 40-hour week for a 52-week year; must also be able to work overtime, extended days, and travel overnight as required.
  • Communicate effectively with engineering groups and the customer to ensure correctness of efforts being applied.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Around 30% National and International travel as required to properly support project implementations. 

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • 10 years of conveyor experience and technical systems experience including concepting, material flow, equipment interfaces, knowledge of controls, mechanical and electrical installation, and purchasing.
  • Design systems using AutoCAD release 2011 software.
