OBJECTIVE

A storage system for silicon rods for the WAVER fabrication. High stock reliability and optimum utilisation of the limited space in an already existing building were the most important requirements. The silicon rods should be centrally stored and retrieved for fast production.

SOLUTION

A Commissioner was integrated into the existing building over two floors. The high storage density with little storage space required allows for storing silicon rods in a minimum of space. The storage and recording of the stored material are effected at the entrance. The rods are then retrieved "just-in-time" for further processing in 3 shift operation.
