Graduate and Undergraduate Controls System Engineers

The Role:


We are now recruiting for Graduate and Undergraduate Controls System Engineers to join our Controls Department here at TGW Northern Europe to be based out of our Market Harborough office.

Our Graduate andUndergraduate Controls System  Engineers work as part of the our Controls Team with involvement in the entire project lifecycle.  They support with the modification and commissioning of all PLC level control systems for our automated materials handling solutions. 

Interacting with Controls Engineers, Designers and Clients at our UK Head Office and at various installation sites across the UK and Europe, they help ensure that we always meet our customers’ requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the production of concepts, designs and system upgrade specifications
  • Ensure that designs meet all relevant regulations and codes of practice
  • Assist in the management of controls sub-contractors
  • Consult with design team on device layout, agree and freeze electrical design
  • Develop and produce control systems functional specifications
  • Assist in the development of electrical and software solutions using the standard TGW architecture and software blocks (based on Siemens S7)
  • Create in-house software test schedule
  • In-house software testing
  • Assist and lead site software commissioning and handover testing of in-house and sub contract controls solutions
  • Provide support for electrical and software systems to our clients throughout the life of the installation

Key Requirements:

  • Studying towards a degree in Electrical or Mechatronic Engineering
  • Good knowledge and experience of  electrical engineering and controls
  • Attitude to expand knowledge base and skills set
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills and customer focus
  • Excellent MS Office skills
