Maintenance Technician

TGW Northern Europe are seeking a Maintenance Technician to join an existing client site based in Nottingham to provide a broad based electrical, mechanical, facilities management and software first line fix for our client's automated solution.

We are looking for candidates that hold an electrical qualification who are looking to broaden their mechanical and software experience (i.e. PLC, Controls, etc.).

You'll have the opportunity to work within a small team of experienced Technicians and undergo training to develop your skills, such as learning how to troubleshoot Controls/PLCs. As you'll be representing TGW on site, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring a professional relationship with the client is developed and maintained

Key Responsibilities 

As a Maintenance Technician, you will work within a small resident TGW team responsible for the autonomous maintenance of the automated equipment on-site which includes tote conveyors, spiral conveyors, tote elevators and shuttles. You will ensure that the equipment operates at its maximum efficiency to ensure that customers’ orders aren’t missed and that the contracted KPIs are delivered. This will also include coordinating planned preventative maintenance, breakdowns and escalations with the client and mobile teams.

Your role will involve actively working with the customer to optimise performance and attending daily customer meetings to provide any updates on the automated solution. As such, we are looking for individuals who adopt the ‘right first time’ mind-set in their approach.

In addition, you will complete reports using a range of tools such as SCADA, Warehouse Controls Systems and Microsoft packages, as part of your wider compliance with all current and future health and safety legislation.

Key Requirements

The ideal candidate will have an electrical qualification (i.e. Level 2/3 NVQ or City & Guilds) with experience of undertaking installations, planned and reactive maintenance in a previous role. As you will be on client-site, you'll need excellent communication skills and a customer focus, as well as being able to work to a time-critical environment. 

  • Electrical qualification (NVQ Level 2 / City and Guilds or equivalent).
  • Previous planned and reactive maintenance experience.
  • Able to work a 4 on 4 off shift pattern.
  • Familiar with basic hand tools such as spanners, screwdrivers, Allen keys.
  • Excellent communication skills and customer focus.
  • Ability to work in a time critical environment.

  • Mechanical engineering experience or qualification. 
  • Have previously worked within an automated warehouse and have experience with maintaining conveyors, tote elevators, shuttles, etc.
