Shipping Coordinator

The Shipping Coordinator supports the shipment of goods produced and is responsible for coordinating and tracking all shipments and making arrangements for pick up by the carrier specified on the customer’s purchase orders. Other responsibilities include maintaining the shipping material inventory, assisting with overseeing the shipping department and addressing customers or shipping  questions or concerns. 


  • Make arrangements for and/or schedule the shipment of goods
  • Ensure correct shipment of all orders are OTCC (on time, complete and correct)
  • Review delivery periods to issue work assignments
  • Issue written and oral shipping instructions and provide routing information to ensure that delivery times and locations are coordinated
  • Tracking of goods enroute to their destination ensuring any problems that may arise are resolved as to avoid delays
  • Calculate and track the on-time performance percentages within the shipping department
  • Create Bill of Lading, Packing Slips and complete invoicing
  • Assist the Logistics group with correcting any posting issues and post outgoing shipments
  • Performs such other functions as may be assigned to him/her


  • High School diploma required
    • Associates degree in Clerical Services or Business Management desired or 2 years relevant   experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and ability to learn internal software systems
  • Prior experience with ERP systems helpful
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to present information in a clear and concise manner
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills a must
  • Strong organizational and time management skills very important
