Apprentice - Field Service Engineer
During this 4 year apprenticeship, you will be learning the skills required to become a Field Service Engineer. The apprenticeship will provide you with a fully funded, nationally recognised qualification of a Level 3 Diploma in AME (Advanced Manufacturing Engineering) and a BTEC level 3 Diploma in Engineering.
As an Apprentice, you will spend the first 42 weeks working full time in a training environment allowing you to gain the foundational skills required. In year 2 & 3 you spend 1 day per week in the classroom and 4 days per week working alongside fully qualified engineers supporting our clients. On a daily basis, you will gain knowledge of the job, our equipment and business and have the chance to put into practice the theory you have learnt in the classroom.
By the end of your apprenticeship, you will have the skills to provide a broad based electrical, mechanical and software expertise to support TGW customer sites, upgrades, projects and enhancements.
You will be expected to travel between customer sites both in the UK and Europe, to provide support on several activities. These activities would range from:
- Planned preventative maintenance
- Equipment repair and breakdowns
- Project support
- Site management
- Operational support
We are seeking applications from candidates who have 5 x GCSEs (or equivalent). Grades must be A*-C / 9-5 for Maths and A*-C / 9-4 for English, Science and two other subjects. Level 2 PEO would be desirable.
Due to the nature of the role, you will need a full driving license and your own transport.
