Software Engineer III

This is a senior level position that will contribute to a team effort in all aspects of software engineering including design, development, testing, commissioning and support. This position will also support pre-order concept work and project estimation.


  • Analyzes, designs, develops, modifies, writes, edits, and implements software programming applications for the most complex solutions
  • Proposes software solutions. Determines time estimates and staffing requirements of new and modified systems
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of an agile team of software engineers who will develop, test, and commission an integrated systems project
  • Collaborate with all work streams within a project implementation
  • Interact directly with the customer for all phases of a project
  • Write technical specifications for custom modifications
  • Write C# code and tests to meet functional and technical specifications
  • Participate in software functional tests using an equipment emulation model
  • Commission software on site with automated equipment
  • Provide start-up and post go-live support
  • Participate in on-call rotation
  • Stay abreast on current and new technologies and also work closely with the product development team


  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Ability to design and code complex software solutions with little to no supervision
  • Proven ability to lead engineering resources to complete project tasks
  • Ability to manage customer interaction during various project phases
  • Solid decision making skills for technical, team, and support situations
  • Ability to look beyond individual or team’s work state and fully understand the effect on other areas of the project
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with all levels of the organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Proficiency in object oriented design principles and programming in C#
  • Experience in relational database application programming
  • Thorough understanding of agile methods and practices
  • Experience with Entity framework and LINQ
  • Understanding of asynchronous and parallel programming techniques
  • Understanding of Microsoft Windows Workflow
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio 2013 or newer
  • Familiarity with source control (e.g. TFS, GIT, SVN)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft TFS
  • Ability to have fun while working in a fast-paced environment
