Resident Engineering Team Leader - Peterborough (M/F/D)*
As the Resident Engineering Team Leader you will be responsible for safely and efficiently managing the customer site while also providing reactive and proactive maintenance support to the automation system.
You will lead a small resident engineering team to ensure smooth operational performance and lead all continuous improvement activities that underpin site performance. You will be the customer's primary point of contact regarding day-to-day operations on-site.
What you'll be handling:
- Ensure the day-to-day management of the Resident (Maintenance) Engineering team
- Support site performance by using internal networks across Lifetime Services to identify improvements and contribute to site success
- Execute performance reporting and monitoring, customer meetings, identifying successes and opportunities to improve
- Ensure Continuous improvement by using internal tools such as DART and CMMS
- Perform audits of site processes to ensure compliance, implementing audit follow-up actions to improve the site
- Manage team resources to ensure contract performance
- Identify opportunities to improve daily working practices to improve quality and performance (PPM Plans, Method statements)
- Use of CMMS and DART to ensure that all activity is accurately recorded to benchmark team performance
- Conduct regular 121's and annual Performance Development Interviews to support team development and performance
- Co-ordinate all maintenance activities, planned repairs, and reactive repairs of the automated equipment on site
- Support the automation to operate at its maximum efficiency
- Complete all necessary reports, including near-miss and hazard reports, shift reports, maintenance tasks, spare parts usage reports, and toploss reports, while working in DART, CMMS, SAV Assure and Teams software platforms
- Attend daily customer meetings, providing any updates on the automation
- Manage escalations on site in line with TGW’s escalation procedure
What you'll need:
Required
- Minimum NVQ Level 3 / City and Guilds in an engineering discipline
- Previous experience working in an operational engineering role within a similar environment
- Experienced in leading a team or coaching and mentoring team members
- Working knowledge of Siemens S7, Profibus, Canbus, Profinet and ASI Bus
- Ability to work in a time-critical environment
- Strong knowledge of both electrical and mechanical engineering
- Ability to work at heights
- Available to work flexible shift patterns
Preferred
- Experienced in managing customer/stakeholder relationships
- Previous experience in Intralogistics
