Apprentice Project Engineer

During this four year apprenticeship you will complete a qualification within the Engineering field, you will gain on the job experiences. Working within Automation, you will have a Mentor with a wealth of experience to help guide and support you.

You will work as a member of the Project Engineering team to support and provide the necessary engineering detail so that our solutions can be built safely, to all relevant standards and cost effectively. Project Engineers support the project engineering team on projects and will assist with the development of engineered solutions from customer commitment through implementation and handover.

Tasks

Assist with translation of customer request into a design solution with support from Project Engineering team, Project Engineering Team Leader (& others)

Participation in operational feasibility reviews

Value engineering of the solution to ensure the budget is realised

Preparation of system layouts and general arrangement drawings

Preparation of site installation packs

Supporting with preparation of detailed specifications and design documents needed for production

Review of equipment design and specifications to ensure standardisation of design across all projects.

Participation in review of equipment throughputs and capacities

Assist with the preparation of the technical section of Request For Quotation (RFQ) documents for 3rd party and bought in equipment

Check RFQ returns against TGW RFQ requirements

Development of design risk assessments and the review of projects to ensure that all current legislation is fully complied with

Participation in regular design team reviews including the preparation of adequate minutes

Participation in project review meetings

Surveying of sites and installations

Management of general project documentation

Assistance in the preparation of H&S files / technical files.  General use of ‘MS Office’ (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project, Visio, Outlook)  and ‘AutoCAD’ software in execution of the above

Ensure that the right TGW equipment is used (Technical detail engineering)

Provide technical sales support

Attend customer meetings as required.

Knowledge of the regulations of the local authorities

Designing to the relevant CE norms / legislations standards.

Identify added value opportunities.

Collaborative, supportive and integrative working with the other TGW colleagues and departments.

Maintain and develop departmental processes to ensure a continuous drive towards improving efficiency.

Identify cost saving opportunities for TGW.

 

Requirements

You will be passionate about engineering, you will be dedicated to your studies and will enjoy a challenge. 

Maybe as a hobby you will enjoy all things Mechanical, you may have some work experiences already. 

You will be willing to travel.
