Deputy Site Engineering Manager - Picnic site


Wanted: motivator who gets excited about getting the best out of people and systems! We are looking for a Deputy Site Engineering Manager, who will make smooth operational performance happen. Groceries for more than 150,000 families are supplied, picked and delivered weekly from Picnic's newest distribution centre in Utrecht. The centre is highly automated, divided into 3 temperature zones and 40,000 m2 in size. The automation consists of state-of-the-art material handling equipment. Think advanced conveyor belts, roller conveyors and shuttles. For control, the system uses sensors, scanners and weighing systems. The heart of the design is the shuttle system that can track and load more than 200,000 storage locations in almost 40 aisles.

As Deputy Site Engineering Manager you are working together closely with our Site Engineering Manager.
  • You will deputise for the Site Engineering Manager when required
  • You have responsibility for Health and Safety Legislation and safe working procedures.
  • You are in control of operation leadership of the site including line Management responsibility for the Team Leaders.
  • You are responsible for contract reporting and customer meetings, identifying successes, and opportunities to improve.
  • You are responsible for audits of all processes both site based and larger business to ensure compliance. Continuous development and improvement of audit results.
  • You will manage site resources (People and assets) to ensure contract performance. Looking forward and planning strategic objectives for the life of the contract. (PPM Plans, Maintenance strategy improvement - World Class).
  • You have commercial awareness of how site performance and customer relationship can adversely effect TGW profitability, escalating risks and concerns where necessary.

What you'll need

  • You have at least a MBO 4 level diploma and Bachelor work- and thinking skills.
  • You already have several years of experience in a managerial role within a service and maintenance organisation.
  • You have excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English in challenging operational environments.
  • You are on a high level of understanding of CMMS and maintenance strategies
  • Your skills on IT level are good with knowledge of MS tools including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • You have business and commercial competence and understanding.
