Environment, Health and Safety Advisor

We are recruiting an Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) Advisor to join a small, dedicated team of professionals who support the TGW NE business. 

The EH&S Advisor is a key member of the TGW Northern Europe EH&S Dept. They provide EH&S support to the LTS site, U&E and Realisation projects as well as management support and implementation of existing and new EH&S initiatives.

Tasks

  • Implementing and auditing EH&S programs and policies in both resident (LTS) sites and construction projects in the Northern Europe region; principally in the Benelux and Nordics and across the UK.
  • Mentor and guide site managers to promote and deliver pragmatic EH&S solutions, and promote accountability and ownership of EH&S process in the management team.
  • Support effective and timely accident investigation ensuring root cause is ascertained and that actions are taken to prevent recurrence
  • Ensure actions rising from accidents or audits are closed out and lessons learned and communicated
  • Assist with development of the EH&S management system including ensuring documents are relevant and up to date
  • Deliver EH&S training as required.
  • Support customer tenders and pre-quals to provide relevant EH&S evidence and documents to support the sales process
  • Support EH&S communications, including issuing and tracking to completion
  • Supporting the EH&S steering committees including capturing actions and tracking to completion
  • Supporting the EH&S aspects of the eLearning solution including creating and managing EH&S content
  • Key responsibilities will be updated in line with business and role responsibilities.

Requirements

You hold a Level 3 H&S qualification (such as NEBOSH Construction Certificate) and will be working towards a Level 5/6 Qualification.

You are likely employed/or have recently been employed in an Engineering/Construction role and have extensive experience in an EH&S role with a good understanding of the applicable legal framework.

The role requires extensive travel across UK and Northern Europe, giving you the responsibility of ensuring that TGW NE policies and processes are implemented.

A confident and pragmatic approach is essential to the successful hands on training of the role!

Your integration into the existing team is as important as your current skill set, with training in electrical or electromechanical fields being advantageous to the role.
