Variety is your spice of life, you're always learning, and you relish new challenges and accountability...
As a Software Tester, you’re always learning. You learn about the applications you test, you learn about your clients’ businesses, you learn about the latest tools and processes that (supposedly) make your job easier, and so on.
You’d also class yourself as a chameleon – you change depending on the environment you’re in or the product you have to test. Variety is the spice of life! So what happens if your role isn’t supporting your continuous learning and/or offering you the variety in the products or projects your working? Alternatively, perhaps it’s because of these traits that you’re always keeping an eye out for new challenges…
In either case, we’re currently looking to expand our small Testing team based in Market Harborough. As a Software Tester, you will work as part of our team testing TGW’s suite of Warehouse Control Systems and Transport Systems, which oversee the activity flow within our client’s new automated distribution centres.
You will be working closely with the Developers and client project teams. TGW’s clients include SMEs to FTSE250 across a range of sectors, therefore every project is unique and brings its own sets of challenges and complexity. As a result, your chameleon traits will be put to good use!
And what about learning and development? The team are continuously looking at implementing new processes and tools to improve the quality of work delivered. Currently, the majority of testing is manual, but you’ll help develop the testing tools and automated test scripts to support regression testing efforts longer-term.
Training and career development also are a key part of the culture at TGW, therefore you'll have access to training resources internally and externally from day one. The IT department continues to grow and with this growth, new roles and career opportunities arise – ideal if you have aspirations of moving toward a more technical specialism or senior position longer-term.
You are already working as a Software Tester and have been involved in the full software project life-cycle (test case and specification design through to SAT/FAT).
You enjoy collaborating, coordinating, and advising both internal and external stakeholders.
As our Testers will travel up to 3 months of the year across Europe, you’ll be happy travelling and spending 1-2 weeks away at a time. You’ll also hold a full, clean driving licence.
Your technical skills should include:
As a Software Tester, you will receive a competitive salary plus access to our comprehensive benefits package, which includes 25 days annual holiday entitlement with the option to buy a further 5 days of flexible holiday, a contributory pension scheme and access to our free gym!
