Software Tester

Due to a period of growth we are currently recruiting for an experienced Software Tester or Software Test Engineer to join our Testing team based at our office in Market Harborough.

You will be working closely with the developers and client project teams testing our Warehouse Control Systems and Transport Systems, which oversee the activity flow within our client’s new automated distribution centres.

TGW’s clients include SMEs to FTSE250 across various sectors; therefore, every project is unique and brings its own sets of challenges and complexity.

With a large proportion of our projects being based across Northern Europe there will be regular travel during the commissioning phase of a project so a great opportunity to visit and work with people from different parts of the world!

The Software Tester will analyse and review requirement documentation and write detailed test specifications. This will mainly involve manual testing but with a view to developing test tools and automated test scripts longer term to support regression testing efforts.

The role will involve installation and configuration of the software on virtual test environments and a high level of investigative troubleshooting to identify the location and root cause of issues and defects.

There will be an expectation for the Software Tester to liaise with customers and run Factory Acceptance Testing for customers and stakeholders.

Testing will take place in the office against emulation and then during the commissioning phase, the Software Test Engineer will also lead testing on site.

As our Testers will travel up to 3 months of the year across Europe, you’ll be happy travelling and spending 1-2 weeks away at a time. You’ll also hold a full, clean driving licence.

You will have experience with a combination of the following:

  • Testing tools such as Visual Studio, Team Foundation Server, Jira or similar
  • Basic or intermediate SQL query experience
  • Previously worked within automated logistics or manufacturing environments

We offer

We offer a flexible working environment and you will receive a competitive salary plus access to our comprehensive benefits package including 25 days annual holiday entitlement with the option to buy or sell more, a contributory pension scheme, life assurance and access to our onsite gym!

Training and career development also are a key part of the culture at TGW; therefore, you'll have access to training resources internally and externally from day one.
