Lead Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

If you’re an experienced Multi-Skilled Engineer looking to take the next step up in your career and have more accountability on site, look no further…

Main Responsibilities

We are seeking a Lead Multi-Skilled Engineer to join a new client site based in Dartford, Kent. This is the third automated distribution centre in the UK for our client (a leading supermarket chain) utilising TGW’s automated solution which includes tote conveyors, spiralveyors, automated picking stations and the high-speed storage and retrieval shuttles to support their home delivery service.

TGW has adopted a new model and team structure at the new site which has now been rolled out to its other existing sites. This approach will help meet new objectives and growing demand from the client’s customer base.

What does this mean for you? On any one shift, there will always be three TGW employees: a Lead Multi-Skilled Engineer, a Multi-Skilled Engineer and a Technician. This will mean you’ll be the most senior Engineer on your shift and act as a key escalation point for your team. You’ll have a good level of autonomy when resolving issues, liaising with the client’s operations team, and coordinating any other third parties on-site.

You’ll work closely with the TGW Site Manager in helping to develop your team, helping to identify training needs and coordinating the shift work each day.

As this is a new site, you’ll also be heavily involved with continuous improvement activities across the automated solution and represent TGW in front of the client, helping to develop the relationship on site.

We’ll offer you a comprehensive training programme which will cover the automated equipment and software, as well as softer skills such as team leadership and recruitment. In addition, TGW has a fantastic culture of career progression across the entire Northern Europe business, so you’ll be presented with a range of opportunities to progress your career into managerial or more technical specialist positions.

Shift Pattern

12 hours Monday-Sunday working 7-7 (7am-7pm days and 7pm-7am nights) on a 4-on-4-off shift pattern. You’ll work 2 day shifts and 2 night shifts during each 4-day pattern.

About You

We offer

We offer a highly competitive salary plus overtime, and a comprehensive benefits package which includes 25 days annual holiday entitlement with the option to buy a further 5 days of flexible holiday, a contributory pension scheme, access to our free on-site gym and wellness programme, cycle to work scheme, access to discounts via our affinity scheme and many more!
