Site Manager

To manage the steelwork erection, mechanical construction, electrical installation, third-party equipment and power up of a TGW project and provide leadership to the resources deployed to work in that section. (TGW and Third party)

Ensure that all equipment and services are delivered on time, to a high quality and are fully complete.

Conduct daily “stand ups” and weekly progress reviews to ensure that activity is progressing in accordance with the schedule and that minor issues and conflicts that arise are resolved without the need for escalation.

Provide regular reporting to the General Project Manager, Project Team and department management including progress of work completed, review of upcoming activity, potential risk and any items requiring escalation.

  • Escalation of residual issues or change requests to General Project Manager
  • Commercial awareness – elimination of waste
  • Management of site cleanliness
  • Progress reporting and participation in project team meetings
  • Mechanical Installation (TGW product, steelwork and third party equipment)
  • Budgetary awareness and where appropriate control (labour and installation material)
  • Installation team management (With the assistance of TGW Mechanics supervisor)
  • Auditing to ensure that H&S procedures are complied with
  • Scheduling (grains of one day)
  • Daily planning - managing the changing circumstances that occur during the construction phase
  • Progress reporting to the General Project Manager and project team
  • Issue resolution or escalation using an appropriate channel
  • Quality validation / Audit
  • Completion verification and documentation
  • Management and closure of the resulting snag list in an appropriate timescale
  • Electrical Installation
  • Budgetary awareness and control (labour and installation material)
  • Handover from mechanical installation and assistance in the creation of the mechanical snag list
  • Installation team management (with the assistance of TGW electrical supervisor)
  • Daily planning - managing the changing circumstances that occur during the construction phase
  • Progress reporting to the General Project Manager and project team
  • Issue resolution or escalation using an appropriate channel
  • Power up control, Panel isolation and lock off management
  • Completion verification and documentation
  • Management and closure of the resulting snag list in an appropriate timescale

About You

We are looking for someone with;

  • Automation industry knowledge 
  • Proven leadership and communication skills
  • Competent planning skills
  • Negotiation experience 
  • Commercial awareness
  • The flexibility to travel around Europe for up to 90% of the time.
  • Relevant qualifications, ideally in Health and Safety
