Technical Buyer

Reporting to the Group Purchasing Manager, the Technical Purchaser will be in charge of the execution of th South Europe Hub's material group strategies in accordance to our Global Purchasing strategy. The responsibilities and the functions of this professional category and their respective tasks are:


  • Application of Group purchasing processes according to standardized framework under constant coordination with the Purchasing Specialist and Group Purchasing Manager.
  • Purchasing interface between local unit and international Lead Buyers for assigned material groups/projects
  • Selection, assessment & continuous development of new and existing suppliers with respect to quality, adherence to delivery Purchasing strategy dates and costs, supporting the TGW Group
  • Analyze data to develop the appropriate sourcing and negotiating strategies that will maximize the savings opportunities
  • Verification of suppliers‘ compliance to Key Performance Indicators, such as time of delivery, quality, security of supply and others
  • Minimization of procurement risks during the sourcing process
  • Conduct administrative purchasing tasks
  • Tendering and creation of new contracts, revision of quotes and improvement of existing tender process under coordination with the Purchasing Specialist and Group Purchasing Manager
  • Recovery and monitoring of objectives achievement (both operationally and strategically)
  • Close cooperation with other departments of the organization


  • Degree in engineering or Industrial organization
  • Experienced in international industrial purchasing environment for at least 3/ years
  • Experience with Navision (ERP) a plus
  • Proven ability to work on own initiative as proactively
  • Proven ability to manage costs and have an understanding of budgetary requirements
  • Very good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to develop and manage internal and external relationships effectively
  • Excellent Team Player
  • Ability to adapt to changing and dynamic environment
  • Fluent in Spanish and English / French an advantage
  • Willingness to travel abroad (Approx. 10-20%)
