Director of Business Development


The Director of Business Development is responsible for executing the Business Development strategy by initiating customer outreach, preparing and leading customer workshops, and supporting overall Business Development efforts which result in project opportunities for the Sales team. The primary goal of this role is to secure face-to-face meetings with potential clients by utilizing its vast network of contacts. The Director of Business Development qualifies leads and develops relationships with potential clients by educating and consulting them at an early stage in their decision-making process.

What you’ll be handling

  • Secure face-to-face meetings with potential clients, specifically at the executive level including C-suite
  • Solutions-oriented selling; researching prospect strategies and qualifying leads resulting in exploratory discussions on our solutions for Sales opportunities
  • Proactively seek new business opportunities in Fashion & Apparel market; establish relationships with potential clients and consultants early in their process to educate and consult them; maintain and document customer relationship progress in CRM (Microsoft Dynamics)
  • Drive account-based marketing programs
  • Develop Sales content and present TGW to potential clients and consultants in discovery meetings
  • Represent TGW at a trade show, conferences, and industry events

What you’ll need

  • Bachelor's Degree in sales or marketing or related field or equivalent experience
  • Several years of experience with solution selling in the material handling industry with demonstrated success in prospecting large, complex business relationships
  • Excellent industry networking skills including an extensive existing network in Fashion & Apparel
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Experience with Linkedin, Linkedin Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, Microsoft Dynamics
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel up to 40%
