Maintenance Engineer - ASKO Trondheim (M/F/D)*

Join TGW as a Maintenance Engineer at the ASKO Midt Norge site in Trondheim, Norway, and play a key role in maintaining a state of the art, fully automated freezer system.

ASKO, Norway’s leading grocery wholesaler, is expanding its operations with a high performance logistics centre designed to support future growth. The installation features an 18 metre high freezer warehouse, including a high bay pallet system and an automated mini load warehouse with 38,000 storage locations, boosting productivity, sustainability and employee ergonomics. Go live has been in January 2025.

As part of TGW’s on site maintenance team, you will support all automation related systems, applying your electrical, mechanical, controls and software expertise to ensure smooth operations. You work proactively, solve issues right first time, and continuously look for ways to improve system performance.

You will join a close knit team of Maintenance Engineers and a Team Leader working a two shift pattern (Monday to Friday, 06:00–18:00), with potential and probably future permanent evening shifts, (Monday to Friday, 06:00-22:00) Acting as a TGW ambassador, you build and maintain a strong, professional relationship with our customer while ensuring maximum system availability.

What you'll be handling:

  • You will execute scheduled preventive maintenance tasks
  • You resolve breakdown situations (Corrective Maintenance) - with support on more technical elements such as electrical and mechanical fault finding and rectification
  • You will ensure high levels of housekeeping, never compromise on safety
  • You support the automation to operate at its maximum efficiency
  • You complete all necessary reports, including those for shift maintenance tasks, spare parts usage, and top loss, while working in DART and CMMS software platforms
  • You continually improve the performance of the equipment through avenues such as top loss activities and design modifications
  • You actively seek root cause when remedying any breakdowns on TGW-supplied equipment and software
  • You will attend customer meetings, providing any updates on the automation
  • You suggest any continuous improvement activities that will increase the reliability of TGW and third-party assets on site

What you'll need:

  • You could have an Engineering Qualification or semilar, like Electrician, Auto- or Flight mechanics
  • You have general knowledge of mechanics, electrical and control
  • You have a good understanding of maintenance processes
  • You are able to build strong working relationships with colleagues and the customer
  • You have the ability to work in a time-critical environment
  • You are available to work flexible shift patterns (right now 2 shifts, possible evening shifts in future)
  • You have good problem-solving skills
  • You are fit to climb and work at height
  • You have an excellent command of the Norwegian and English language
