Release Manager (M/F/D)*

As a Software Release Manager, you will be responsible for the cross-functional planning, coordination, and on-time execution of our software releases. You will ensure that all required software components are delivered in full, properly integrated, and quality-assured.

You will coordinate different software teams and collaborate closely with Product Owners, project managers, quality management, operations teams, and external partners. In this role, you will make an important contribution to the successful delivery of our customer projects and the stability of our productive cloud solutions.

What you'll be handling:

  • You define, coordinate, and maintain the overarching release calendar for our software products and platforms
  • You plan release dates, milestones, scope, approvals, and required preparatory activities
  • You coordinate multiple software teams and manage dependencies across products, teams, and suppliers
  • You monitor release progress, track agreed actions, and ensure the on-time completion of all required software components
  • You facilitate release planning, status, readiness, and decision-making meetings
  • Together with the responsible teams, you define binding release criteria and checkpoints
  • You ensure that the required integration, system, acceptance, and regression tests are planned and that their results are considered
  • You prepare transparent go/no-go decisions and coordinate release approvals based on documented maturity levels and assessed risks
  • You ensure that complete release documentation, including release notes and known limitations, is available on time
  • You coordinate releases for customer projects and productive cloud solutions, taking maintenance windows, availability, rollback options, and operational impacts into account
  • You act as the central point of contact for release status, schedules, dependencies, risks, and decisions
  • You continuously improve the release management process and derive concrete improvement measures from release retrospectives

What you'll need:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a comparable qualification
  • Several years of experience in Software Release Management, Project Management, or Delivery Management
  • Strong understanding of software development processes, release lifecycles, and agile methodologies
  • Experience coordinating multiple teams and managing dependencies and stakeholders
  • Understanding of CI/CD processes, version control, and modern software architectures
  • Strong organizational, communication, and facilitation skills combined with a structured way of working
  • Very good written and spoken German and English skills

We offer an attractive and competitive salary, depending on your qualifications and professional experience. The minimum gross annual salary for this position, based on full-time employment and in accordance with the applicable collective agreement, is EUR 55,625. We are willing to offer a higher salary depending on your skills, experience, and qualifications.
