Master thesis - Database for test data (M/F/D)*

As part of an internship (at least 3-6 months), you will have the opportunity to write a project, bachelor's or master's thesis with TGW Logistics. The topic of the thesis refers to the development of a sustainable concept for the management of test data in an industrial, mechatronic environment. In the Test Engineering department, you will deal with the question of how large amounts of test data from development, integration and system testing can be used efficiently, in a structured and sustainable way.

The aim of the thesis is the design and - depending on the scope - the prototypical implementation of a central database solution for test data, which significantly improves the transparency, traceability and reusability of test results. A direct reference is made to real TGW systems, test benches and processes.

What you'll be handling:

  • Analysis of the current handling of test data at TGW Logistics (collection, storage, analysis, reuse)
  • Recording and structuring of the requirements from test engineering, development and quality assurance
  • Conception of a logical and physical data model for TGW test data
  • Evaluation of suitable technologies and architectures taking into account the TGW system landscape
  • Prototypical implementation of a test database (e.g. incl. import mechanisms, metadata, simple evaluations or dashboards)
  • Validation of the concept on the basis of real test cases or test benches
  • Elaboration of clear recommendations for the use and further development 

What you'll need:

  • Ongoing studies in the field of computer science, software engineering, mechatronics or comparable
  • Strong interest in databases, software systems and technical testing processes
  • Basic knowledge of database technologies (e.g. B. SQL, data modeling) and ideally some programming experience
  • Analytical thinking skills as well as a structured, independent way of working
  • Interest in accompanying a practice-relevant topic from analysis to concept or prototype implementation
  • Enjoyment of the comprehensible preparation of technical content
  • Very good knowledge of German and good English skills

We offer an attractive salary in line with the market, depending on qualifications and professional experience. The minimum gross basic salary under the collective agreement on the basis of full-time employment is 2,948 euros per month.
