Entrepreneurial action and social responsibility are inseparably linked at TGW. This is based on the philosophy of TGW founder Ludwig Szinicz (1939-2017), "Focusing on People – Learning and Growing". This is the guideline for the entire TGW world, including our owner, the TGW Future Private Foundation, the social entrepreneurship and us as a foundation-owned company. We meet our social responsibility in three ways, with a comprehensive approach.
Firstly, the statutes of the foundation that owns our company state that TGW must never be sold and will always remain under the foundation's ownership. Two-thirds of profits are retained and stay in the company. All of this is intended to help TGW act in an environment of lasting stability and offer its employees jobs that are as secure as possible.
Charitable commitment plays an equally relevant role for our owner in addition to TGW as the business centrepiece. This combines the active promotion of personal and professional growth as well as making efforts towards being an exemplary and responsible corporate citizen – locally and internationally. Therefore, at least ten percent of the profits earned by TGW Logistics Group are set aside annually by the owner for the charitable projects of Future Wings and CAP.future. These two areas are focussed on educational and technology-driven innovations and on helping the young people involved develop into well-rounded individuals.
As part of its commitment to society, TGW also supports various charitable initiatives and social projects as well as aid organisations in our immediate environment. Because teamwork plays a central role in the company, we also support select teams and leagues with sponsorships and donations. Here, too, the focus is on instruction and further training – particularly as part of our work with young people.
Since 2007, Future Wings has been initiating and supporting non-profit projects committed to "Focusing on People – Learning and Growing". The projects accompany young lives and give them orientation with the goal of enabling them to take an active role in their learning and growth process and assume responsibility in every area of their life and their environment. This is Future Wings' contribution to equal opportunity, integration and sustainability.
Since 2017, CAP.future has been developing and promoting educational and development spaces for unfolding innovative potential. The projects equip people to learn collaboratively and act proactively across systems – for a better future.
NOVA ZONE is located in the GRAND GARAGE at the Tabakfabrik in Linz, Austria. It offers a makerspace of more than 300 m². A makerspace is a venue for turning technical challenges into concrete solutions. Creative stimuli, workshops and "tech tastings" are offered by this venue for discovering opportunities, developing concepts, improving initial ideas and transforming these ideas into results.
The creativity zone encourages the exchange of ideas, while the workshop area focusses on materialization. Then, the Projektpixel conveys the ideas to the prototype phase.

Programming geniuses and brilliant IT minds are more in demand than ever in the economy as digitization becomes more advanced. CODERS.BAY is the alternative route to becoming a professional web and app developer. The program offers hands-on and project-oriented courses for getting started in software development or expanding on existing skills. CODERS.BAY is a joint initiative of the GRAND GARAGE and vocational school BFI Oberösterreich that is open to all those interested, regardless of experience level – made possible because of customised access phases and training plans.

In collaboration with Teach For Austria, Future Wings looks for innovative ideas that enhance equal opportunity in the educational sector. The "Future Wings Challenge", a start-up incubator, has created an opportunity for founders to contribute to educational equity and fair opportunities for all children by implementing their idea - regardless of their parents' background, income or level of education.
A three-month program prepares and supports participants in founding their start-up – from concept to implementation – on a "side hustle" basis. The program consists of about fifteen workshops that not only turn initial ideas into real-world business models, but also provide advice from experienced coaches and mentors, all at no cost. This promotes business start-ups that are sustainable, effective and socially responsible.
Kids should grow up in a loving and supporting environment. This is true both at home and in the classroom. At school, children develop relationships with others and thus strengthen the social skills that help them lead happy lives. SOS-HERZKISTE is a co-operative effort with SOS-Kinderdorf and offers a toolkit for a loving classroom. It is necessary for ME to be considerate so that I can form a strong relationship with YOU, support the group in which WE live and combine our energies to be passed along to ALL people in the world, thus taking responsibility for society. The respective topic is tailored to the age levels of the ten- to fourteen-year-old age group (known in German as Sekundarstufe 1).
Sueniños is a socially oriented training project in the state of Chiapas in southern Mexico. Children and young people from ages 9 to 25 take part in a comprehensive educational programme and receive support in developing their personality. They can finish school and get trained as a carpenter, food server or cook. This gives them a chance to escape poverty and create their own future.

The CAP. training programme allows high school students to complete a mechatronics engineering apprenticeship while attending secondary school.
The goal is to provide young people with technical skills, prepare them for the challenges of life in the economy, as well as to give them new perspectives for their future educational path.
Learning with enthusiasm – achievement with joy. The B.E.L. private primary school provides children from 1st to 4th grade with an educational environment supporting their overall development and individually promoting their personal fulfilment. Alternative teaching and learning concepts are used in addition to conventional instructional methods. This creates the foundation for a successful path of the children at school, in their careers and in life.

An exercise programme called "MoMo – Monkey Motion" is directed towards children in primary school. Child-friendly exercises are intended to awaken enthusiasm for movement and promote the development of motor skills. Raising awareness among the children for a healthy lifestyle and balanced diet is another central aspect.

People who are interested in analogue and digital technologies can bring their ideas to life and implement projects together at an innovation workshop of more than 4,000 m² at the Tabakfabrik Linz, the former tobacco factory. The GRAND GARAGE helps develop abilities in a variety of technical fields – from 3D printing to welding. In this environment, young people can develop and network with specialists, educational institutions and companies.
