15 years of TGW Scandinavia – success in a highly innovative market

  • Since its founding in 2010, TGW Scandinavia has firmly established itself in the Swedish, Danish and Norwegian market.
  • Planning, development and realization of future-proof intralogistics solutions for a number of Scandinavian "big names".
  • Using local expertise, the team covers the entire value added chain.

(Marchtrenk, Austria, August 26th, 2025) Since its founding in the summer of 2010, TGW Scandinavia has left a clear mark on the dynamically evolving material handling market. Many of the solutions that the team develops together with customers in Sweden, Denmark and Norway are pioneering for the industry. Right now, showcase projects with supraregional influence are being implemented primarily in the area of grocery/freezer logistics.

TGW Scandinavia is based in Mölndal in the metropolitan area of Gothenburg in southern Sweden and belongs to the Customer Unit North Europe. It covers the entire value added chain for customers in Sweden, Denmark and Norway: from business development and sales to project management and Lifetime Services.

Well-known brands

TGW Scandinavia's success is apparent, not least from the caliber of the companies won over as customers over the past years. These include well-known brands such as Martin & Servera (catering trade wholesaler) or MEKO/Bileko Car Parts.

Showcase project for freezer logistics

TGW Logistics is building a highly-automated fulfillment center for the retail giant ICA Sweden, to be finished by January 2026. At its center will stand a 30-meter-tall freezer warehouse for pallets, which will be connected to a dynamic shuttle system. The latter will allow direct access to each item and thus facilitate the shortest possible lead times.

In order to pick the shops' orders, the required items will be retrieved, sequenced and then assembled; palletizing stations will handle the fully or partly-automated stacking of orders into roll cages appropriate for the shop in question.

Freezer system completed in Trondheim

Norway has also been witness to TGW Logistics' success in the area of freezer logistics: a highly-automated freezer solution was built in Trondheim for the leading Norwegian grocery wholesaler ASKO. The 18-meter-high freezer system consists of a high-bay pallet warehouse and an automated mini-load warehouse with 38,000 storage locations.

Fulfillment center for medical products in Sweden

In Gothenburg, a highly-automated fulfillment center will be built for the Swedish healthcare specialist OneMed by October of 2026. The core element will be the TGW FlashPick system with a 24-meter-high shuttle warehouse and over 80,000 storage locations. The inclusion of the self-learning picking robot RovoFlex constitutes a particular highlight.

“We remain firmly committed to expanding our Scandinavian branch as part of our strategic growth plan.
