Applications Engineer Technical Lead (M/F/D)*
The Applications Engineering Technical Lead has the technical management of a group of Applications Engineers. This position’s primary responsibility is to supervise the sales projects in the group in a technical and resource-related manner. The Technical Lead is accountable for the technical output of the group, including but not limited to, developing assigned intralogistics systems and achieving optimal mechatronic solutions in terms of performance, space requirements, maintainability and cost efficiency.
What you’ll be handling
- Provides technical management via proactive coaching and mentoring of employees in the respective group regarding solution-finding, specialist knowledge, control technology, and methodological competence.
- Develops a technically feasible and economical offer that optimally satisfies customer requirements and earns customer acceptance.
- Supports Group in achieving planned order intake with maximum added value and profit, and minimal risk.
- Provides description of the material to be conveyed (size, weight, properties, types, barcodes position) in TGW proposal.
- Serves as technical expert and point of contact for specialist departments, such as product management, for the further development of mechatronic products and solutions.
- Ensures proper order handover to the process realization and implementation, providing active order support.
What you’ll need
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience
- At least five (5) years of prior experience in applications engineering or related, preferably in a material handling or intralogistics environment.
- Advanced proficiency in 2D (AutoCAD) and 3D CAD software.
- Formal or informal leadership experience leading a team of engineers.
- In-depth knowledge of mechanics, automation, and control technology.
- Understanding of logistical processes and requirements via third-party trades (racking systems, labelling systems, sorting systems, etc.)
- Comfortability in coaching and mentoring less experienced engineers.
