Project Engineer - Distributor Business Unit (M/F/D)*
This is a customer facing position where you will work closely with the general project manager and provide support with technical clarification and customer approvals. You will be responsible for managing the engineering details required to ensure our solutions are designed and implemented safely, cost-effectively, and in compliance with all relevant standards. From customer commitment through to implementation and handover, you’ll oversee the development of engineered solutions and verify system designs to ensure alignment with current legislation. You will be involved throughout the entire project realization from sales handover to customer acceptance and handover to Lifetime Services (LTS).
What you’ll be handling
Review operational feasibility, prepare system layouts, general arrangement and conveyor layouts in realization quality, and detailed design documents, ensuring compliance with US standards and regulations.
Drive value engineering, identify added value and cost-saving opportunities and ensure solutions remain within budget.
Support the project manager with change request creation and execution from a technical perspective.
Review equipment specifications for standardization, analyze tender returns and develop design risk assessments to ensure legislative compliance.
Participate in controls meetings to ensure the functionality of the layout / system with costumer controls requirements.
Prepare site installation packs, H&S files, and technical sections, while managing general project documentation.
What you’ll need
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience in a similar role, preferably within a Material Handling environment.
- Willingness to travel domestically for project related tasks and internationally for trainings and development in Austria, up to 30%.
- System-level working knowledge of Mechanical, PLC Controls, and Software Engineering.
- Highly skilled in CAD software with significant hands-on expertise – AutoCAD preferred.
- Exceptional communication skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively within an international team located worldwide.
