TGW Logistics drives large-scale automation project for Kave´s new Spanish distribution facility
(Barcelona, September 15, 2026) Kave has selected TGW Logistics to automate its new logistics hub in Tordera (Barcelona). This project is a key pillar of the company’s growth and international expansion strategy in the furniture and home décor sector, strengthening its operational capacity to meet rising demand across all sales channels. The go-live of the highly automated fulfillment center is scheduled for the end of 2028.
The solution includes the implementation of an integrated storage and order‑picking system combining miniload technology, high‑bay automated warehouses, autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) and advanced palletizing processes. With this new logistics platform, Kave will enhance its ability to efficiently manage product flows for e‑commerce, retail and B2B.
A unique logistics solution designed for large and diverse product dimensions
One of the main challenges of Kave new logistics center is handling a wide range of product sizes – from 400 × 300 mm packages to 2400 × 1200 mm bulky items, typical in the furniture and décor industry.
To address this complexity, TGW Logistics has engineered a solution capable of managing multiple product dimensions within a single automated system. Goods will be consolidated from three different areas – from the miniload system, from the pallet warehouse and from the double‑pallet warehouse – into one unified palletizing zone.
The system includes conveyor technology, cartesian palletizing and depalletizing robots, mobile Quba robots for pallets and roll cages, automated warehouses up to 25 meters high and ergonomic picking stations with automatic palletizing and wrapping. The result is a system that automates and improves ergonomics across much of the operation, designed to maximize efficiency, accuracy and scalability.
Greater operational capacity and enhanced customer experience
This investment responds to Kave‘s commitment to supporting its current and future growth. With this new logistics platform, Kave will reach a capacity of up to 21,000 packages per day and expand its storage capacity to 93,000 pallet positions, more than doubling its current volume. This expansion will support the company’s growth by enabling faster deliveries, higher picking accuracy and a more consistent omni-channel experience for both consumers and professional clients.
Francesc Julià, CEO at Kave, comments: “TGW Logistics is proving to be an outstanding partner and it is a pleasure to develop such a strategic project for Kave together with them.”
“This project is the result of the joint work between TGW Logistics and Kave teams over the past months. Seeing this collaboration materialize into a solution that drives their logistics evolution is a source of pride and a step forward toward the future we are building together”, affirms Anselm Bolea, Sales Project Manager at TGW Ibérica.
Albert Vidal, CEO Customer Unit South Europe at TGW Logistics, adds: “We deeply appreciate the trust Kave has placed in TGW Logistics by choosing us as their strategic partner for such a key project in technological innovation and operational efficiency. It is an honor to support their evolution and contribute to the development of their logistics.”
