TGW Logistics invests another 50 million euros in its headquarters in Marchtrenk, Austria

  • An innovative workplace for more than 400 employees will come into being by the first half of 2028.
  • The new office building will double the available office space.
  • The project is a clear affirmation of the growth potential of intralogistics.

(Marchtrenk, Austria, April 28, 2026) TGW Logistics is investing 100 million euros in a new production hall and a highly-automated storage system that will go live in the summer of 2026. Now it is time for the next step: 50 million euros will go into expanding the existing office building in Marchtrenk to double its size by the first half of 2028, laying the foundation for the company's planned growth. The groundbreaking ceremony for the showcase project took place on April 28 in the presence of Thomas Stelzer, governor of Upper Austria, and Paul Mahr, mayor of the town of Marchtrenk.

The five-floor office building at the Marchtrenk headquarters will be connected to the existing building via a so-called "Cube." Among other things, this Cube will house meeting areas, workshop rooms and spaces for collaboration in interdisciplinary teams. Thus, it will serve as an incubator for teamwork, creativity and innovation – an indispensable key to success for a technology company in the international project business. The 14,000 m² modern working environment will offer a flexible spatial concept for more than 400 employees.

Doubled revenue by 2030

"TGW Logistics has grown so dynamically over the past few years that we have had to rent satellite offices. That situation was less than ideal in terms of both teamwork and interdisciplinary networking within the company," affirms Henry Puhl, Chief Executive Officer at TGW Logistics. “With this expansion of our headquarters, we can once again consolidate those external offices. That is an important prerequisite for achieving our growth goal – namely, to double our revenue, bringing it up to two billion euros by 2030. Intralogistics is a growth industry with enormous potential, as demonstrated by our record order intake of 1.5 billion euros in the last business year. The investment in our headquarters lays the groundwork for us to continue to be our customers' number 1 project delivery company in the future.”

Modern working environment for flexible collaboration

The activity-based working concept will be applied to the new offices as well. This means that there will be no assigned workspaces; instead, employees can choose their workspace based on the activity they are carrying out. Teams can work together in a highly flexible manner based on their task or project, enjoying the support of modern communication and collaboration tools.

TGW Logistics relies on regional partners for planning, construction and equipment, fostering value creation in Austria. Connection to public transport is provided via a shuttle service to the Marchtrenk train station that is free for employees.

"This investment is a clear indication of the appeal of Upper Austria as an employment, business and innovation location. We offer companies an environment in which they can grow and continue to develop – with qualified employees, modern infrastructure and a clear focus on innovation and performance. Upper Austria is among the most attractive business locations in Europe, and investments like this substantiate that. I am particularly grateful for the company's clear commitment to the Upper Austrian location," explains Thomas Stelzer, governor of Upper Austria.

Foundation-owned company setup provides stability

"Sustainable investments in long-term development are an integral part of our DNA," stresses Sebastian Wolf, Chief Financial Officer at TGW Logistics. “This is made possible by our unique setup as a foundation-owned company, which means not only stability and security but also long-term room for creativity. TGW Logistics cannot be sold and is a stable business partner as well as a reliable employer.”

Two-thirds of profits stay in the company and are reinvested – in the 4,600 employees, in tomorrow's innovations and in infrastructure. One third goes to the owner, the TGW Future Private Foundation, which uses at least 30 percent of that to support the charitable projects of TGW Future Wings. Those projects center on the comprehensive nurturing of children and young people.
