Purchasing Agent (M/F/D)*

The Purchasing Agent is responsible for executing purchasing activities in a timely and cost-effective manner to support operational needs. This role primarily partners with Realization teams to ensure materials and services are delivered to projects and job sites on time and within budget. The Purchasing Agent collaborates with vendors and drives sourcing strategies, supplier performance, and cost optimization initiatives.

What you’ll be handling

  • Lead sourcing activities, including financial and analytical evaluation of suppliers and proposals.
  • Negotiate supplier contracts, including pricing and commercial terms, in alignment with business and market requirements.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives and supply chain strategies to improve net working capital.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of supplier capabilities, cost structures, and market conditions, including regional and geopolitical considerations.
  • Identify, evaluate, and develop suppliers to support cost, quality, and delivery objectives.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier data within the ERP system.
     

What you’ll need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field, or equivalent work experience required.   
  • Minimum of four (4) to six (6) years of experience in purchasing, preferably within a manufacturing or automated logistics environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of supply chain principles and processes
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with ERP systems (SAP experience a plus).
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
