Sales Project Manager

The candidate inside in the Sales Department have tasks, in coordination with the other members of the department, to develop customer projects in order to make sure that TGW is able to win.

Based on the defined sales strategy the employee generates good leads and works together with the rest of the local sales team to have a stable and robust sales project pipeline.

The deep industry, process and solution knowledge and the advanced technical and sales skills enables the employee to earn the trust of the customer at the early stage of the project. By acquiring the necessary project information in a very early stage of the project, contribute to the development of the best fitting and winning solution/project, increasing the hit rate and ensures a high project sales margin.


  • Active lead generation in cooperation with the local business development and aligned with the overall sales strategy
  • Development and evaluation of leads together with the Head of Sales and Solution Design
  • Be the main interface with the assigned customer in all the sales process
  • Understanding the request of our customers, defining an efficient system design, winning projects with the support of the sales team while respecting the TGW sales rules
  • Identify, understand and challenge the customer decision criteria
  • Check and perform customer data, define possible alternative solution, create a material flow of the possible solutions, design a concept layout autonomously or in collaboration with Solution Designers
  • Managing the bid with the most efficient assignment of team members, resources and time
  • Managed bid process within the Sales Team, Solution Designer and Application Engineer assigned to the project, in collaboration with the Head of Sales and Solution Design
  • Collaborate with Solution Designer in the project activities developed in collaboration with other company department: IT, Control, Project Management.
  • Ensuring with the team members the completeness of equipment, controls, IT and third party supplying
  • Creation of technical proposal documents for contractual purpose
  • Documentation of costs with standard tools
  • Ensuring the feasibility of system and test performances
  • Handling the correct sales gates (Bid / NoBid, Concept Review, Design Review, Offer Review, Handover) including all required review meetings, whereas action items from those meetings to be followed up, ensuring any releases of documents to follow the agreed internal rules and guidelines
  • Preparing and performing all customer presentations and meetings
  • Engaging in relationships towards the end-customer to collect the required business knowledge, enhancing the sales process and tailoring the offer to maximise the winning chances = tactical and strategic sales
  • Leading the contractual process and follow the internal rules and guidelines


  • Technical High School degree (example Mechanical or Mechatronical) or University degree (example Engineer)
  • Basic knowledge of Autocad and Office package (word, excel)
  • Good knowledge of English language
  • Proactive, independent and flexible person, able to work in a team and under stress conditions
  • Intercultural understanding, clear communication as well as solution orientation
  • Entrepreneurial thinking
  • Knowledge in the intralogistics
  • Residence in the Modena area or neighboring provinces
  • Ability to produce concise and clear customer/internal documents/presentations/relation
  • Some year of experiences in technical sales department
